So we are on day 3 of the snow and ice storm here in Lexington, KY and its not letting up. I took these hanging out the window of the apartment with my g/f p&s. Worst time ever for my camera to be in the shop, i see so many things i want to shoot right now lol. At least ya'll are getting the cold temps lol.

Nice shots, CJ. One thing I kind of miss about living in the Los Angeles area is the snow. Yup, snow. This time of year, there's usually several feet of snow up in the mountains, less than a 1-hour drive away. Living in Houston, I'd have to drive for 12 hours or more to find snow.

Best,

Michael

Actually the pics remind me of the sentence, uhm, time I spent in FtW 83-84.....Lake Worth actually froze over.

Real Texas just uses DFW as a buffer between us and Oklahoma...

Can I use your images as teaching examples? Perfect examples of the in camera meter exposing everything to an 18% gray.

I was chatting with my sister in Lexington last night and she said she was hearing limbs falling out of her neighbors trees.

Cj, what side of town are you on? I've seen that building before but can't place it right now. I lived there for 18 years before I moved here in 1993.

Tom yeah you're more than welcome to use them, those were taken with a Sony DSC-P150. Rick we are on the south side (made me chuckle writing that) off Nicholasville Rd and New Circle. The building is part of the apartment complex.

I will need to get out tomorrow and take some more pics with her p&s since my camera is in the shop till middle of next week. There are a lot of limbs snapping off, thats my car under that tree. I moved it once i got the 2 1/2 inches of ice and 3 inches of snow off it lol.

Great photos! - they catch the essence. However I DON'T miss the snow and ice. Would much rather have someone tell me about it!!

Stay warm! Houston's cold enough for me!!

I'm glad to be in Texas...not Dallas. I still have a couple years here before I move on. I rather be in the other "D"... Denver.
