Has anyone been there recently? I will be kind of in the area Sat. morning and was thinking of stopping by. Is this an ok place for bird shooting?

I have't been there in a while but I do remember seeing lots of birds and such, especially since it backs up to the lake. You'll just need to get out and walk the trails. They provide a map at the gate. I really need to go out there more since it's like 15 minutes from the house.

I haven't been there since they started charging a daily fee.
Sometimes it's good and sometimes it's dead. Like most any place.

Kind of sounds like the Joint Reserve Base, huh? Except for the fee, they just closed the area off altogether.

Is this the place off Jacksboro Highway in Lake Worth? If so I have been out there about twice a week for the past month maybe. As for the birds it varies. Some days there seems to be birds everywhere, other days you dont see as many.

Any idea what time you think you'll be out there? Be great weather for a meet up dont you think?

Sounds like a great place to get away to even if the photo ops are scarce. A pair of binocs and a packed lunch sounds like fun on a nice day.
