I'll be doing a location portrait shoot tomorrow evening in Ft. Worth.
I could allow one person to come and observe.
If you are interested, PM me (include a phone number) and I'll respond later today.
You would be able to take some photos, but there won't be model releases.
I prefer gorgeous young ladies, but you old geezers won't be discriminated against..

Hope your shoot went well. I was home with my kids this evening or would have tagged along.

I'm not gorgeous, young or a lady, but not quite a geezer ... getting closer every day.

Dang it, how did I miss this original post. I sat on my couch all night tonight with nothing to do. I'd have been more than happy to come along. Hope the shoot went well Tom. Let me know if you've got any other ops for me to come along. Trying to learn more and more every day.

Brad

WOWZER! Somebody (maybe Mary Kay, maybe our dear Sr. Capitan, probably both) is a stinkin' GENIOUS!

Next time I'm privileged to meet you, Captain, remind me to tell you a funny story about Avon and Mary Kay.

Here's a first for me.
The model asked me to remove the piercing and the tat. Apparently mom and dad weren't aware of them...

This old geezer missed the thread. I don't know that it was the make-up. I'm thinking it was all the photographer and maybe a little PS... Especially those blue eyes on the Red Head. Definately the expressions on the after has some bearing on this transformation.

But Roy. I pushed all the buttons on the computer to make that PS thing happen.....

The only PS I do (but it's a major change) is to use the clarity and vibrance buttons.

The before shots are not posed. I tell them it's a mug shot. No posing is done.
In PS I open the image. slam the clarity bar way over to the right.

I do explain to these ladies that a good portrait is all about attitude. 90% her attitude and 10% my attitude.

They get made up and then I pose them, shoot them, and they view the new images on the laptop and pick what they like. Only takes a few minutes per subject.

I use one Norman softbox driven by an AB800. Canon 40D focused by live view, 70-200 f2.8 IS at 200mm for compression. On a tripod with a wireless remote trigger.
