Farmers Branch Historical Park - 03-09-2009, 08:26 PM

Hi folks, thought I'd let you know about my little Historical Park. I think it would make a fantastic spot to come out and play with your cameras:

http://www.farmersbranch.info/play/h...rk/attractions

You'll find a wide variety of historical structures that range from log cabins to a lovely little Victorian cottage.

http://www.farmersbranch.info/play/h...-gilbert-house

http://www.farmersbranch.info/play/h...ot-gas-station

http://www.farmersbranch.info/play/h...l-dodson-house

There is no entrance fee, and we're open from 8-6 M-F and 12-6 on the weekends. If you're just out taking pictures for your portfolio, or just messin' around with your cameras, there is no charge.

If you're conducting photo shoots that you're getting paid for, then we have a $100 annual fee, and you can come out and shoot anytime the Park's open at no charge as long as you schedule your shoot in advance to make sure there is not a conflict with another reservation.

It's a great place to take pictures!

Let me know if you have any questions, I'd be happy to show you around the Park.

Looks like it could be a great spot.
I guess the weekend days are pretty busy?

I agree with you, the park is great and seems every weekend there is something going on there.

And as the park only opens at 12noon on weekends, it's kinda hard to avoid the crowd...
(Not like I can wake up at 8am and go shoot early)

Crowd's not bad at the Park on the weekends unless you catch us during a special event - next one's not 'till April 4; and another one on April 17-18. After that, we're off the hook 'till May 30, when the Dallas Symphony Orchestra comes to play.

I forgot about them I did a art show there 10 years ago. Thanks for the reminder.

Can you shoot inside the buildings or just around them?

Hey Sandra - come and see what's changed in 10 years!

You can come shoot anytime (within the above guidelines, of course) using the exteriors. We'd need to set up an appointment for the interiors and discuss what you planned to do - and we don't do flash photography inside. If you're just shooting images for your portfolio or for fun and it doesn't involve a model, that would be a pretty easy thing to figure out.

Otherwise, we'd need to talk about it and come up with a way that allows you to get the image you want without damaging or potentially harming the interiors, furniture, etc.

Drop me a line and I'd be happy to work something out with you.
