Can you explain what you were going for? As it is without an explanation is just a scene that is very busy in my opinion.

Love the motion of the train! this would look awesome with some cross processing, heavy saturated colors!

Is great, I love the colors, the dinamism and the lack of balance!

I like it. I think the colors are greatt. I do have a question though. Who is the fella standing by the right side of the train. Looks like a fellow shooter.

dosent work very well for me at all. i agree with the previous post about being too busy, there are too many elements my eye is drawn to (oof parking meter, the is, and the train).

i think its an interesting shot....... As far as critiquing, im no expert thats for sure, but watch your horizontal and vertical lines to ensure they are level. Its not easy - i cant do it hand held, but at least we have post-processing to help us out. I dont know why, but im a stickler for that and if a shot is just a scant tilted one way or the other (unless intentional) it just totally draws me to that and less to the image overall.

The only other thing i might mention is the parking meter that dominates the foreground of the left side of the image. The level of DOF here tends to draw you away from it to a degree, but to me its the size, color, and general bulkiness of it that pulllllls the eye that way.

As for composition and technique - love the colors, great sense of conveying movement - and given the level of DOF and shutter speed, I think youve done a great job at exposing as you dont seem blown out anywhere in the highlights, and the shadows provide enough detail.

Nicely done.

i'm actually practicing taking shots for my digital photography class at UTD. Like many of you mentioned my professor also said that the image was too busy. The "theme" i was going for was movement, with the train moving and my car perpendicular and not moving. All i know is i wasted 5 shots trying to get this shot to work. I dont have a remote release for my elan, so using the self timer and trying to figure out what exposure and when the train would come was really difficult! (im just really proud b/c its one of the few shots on my roll that looks 'fine' without any photoshopping)

as for the guy across the street, its my friend shooting the trains as well.
