Thanks. I have a Senior Session and she wants a style like this. Did anyone bother you while you were there? I just don't want to get fined or ticketed.

There is a static train display in Keller on a siding. It's basically behind "Up in Smoke BBQ" on 377. I don't know where Princeton is or how far it is from Keller.

It was at sunset so no one was around. I saw a local PD car drive by but they didn't stop.

Tom, looks like you are off of E. Virginia St between Main St and McDonald St. There are silos near there and it is pretty much downtown McKinney. And since there are two sets of tracks in your photo, you are probably next to a siding track, which does go through McKinney.

Janie, if you do shoot on railroad track, always shoot in an area where you can see a long way in both directions, and take a spotter. The spotter's only job is to look for trains coming, not to hold reflectors or gear, etc. If the engineer sees you standing in the middle of the track, he won't be able to stop in time from running over you.

In McKinney on go east Louisana from hwy 5 about a block. You will have an active track and then in about 50 feet you will have an inactive track. The tracks don't even cross Louisana but run both directions from the street.

Also, I think a while back, some posted a location in Allen (along 75), which is an inactive track too.. may do a search in the threads to look into it.

I know it is a ways off, but there is a line that ran along HWY 56 in Fannin county that is now dead. Runs through some neat small towns. Bonham is has just purchased some of the line for future plans of running a tourist steam train on it.

There are some railroad tracks with some old rail cars in Van Alstyne, near their downtown area. I'm at work otherwise I'd post a pic for you. Took my husband and son there for pics. There are also old painted wall murals in the downtown area too.

Thank you all. midlight: I am from that area and know exactly what you are talking about. It is a place to think about. It is a good place to go to.

I went to downtown Mckinney this morning and think that is where I am going. It has pretty much everything that she is wanting.

Thanks again to all of you for helping out.
