Old Urban Feel with Tracks for shoot - 03-16-2009, 04:39 PM

I have been asked to do a shoot and the girl lives in Princeton. She really doesn't want to drive to far from there. Here are a couple of photos that I did in Rowlett and she loves these. She also wants to do some on railroad tracks. Does anyone have any places that have this feel to it with tracks around? Like I said, she doesn't want to drive far from Princeton. Thank you.

anyone have any suggestions?

Wow. 35 hits and noone knows of a place. Wow.

I was thinking downtown Mckinney, but it feels like alot of photographers use Mckinney where I am at and I just want some place different. A different feel to it.

Anyone?

You might check Frisco, I think they are moving the old Trains from the State Fair into Frisco.

I recommend you do a search here for railroad tracks.
There is a tremendous controversy about the legality, sanity, etc. of shooting anywhere near RR tracks.

If you shoot around railroad tracks, take some one else along to watch for trains. They can sneak up on you real quick. Legality, yes your on private property. But if no one is around and the tracks aren't used much, go for it. They will jsut tell you to leave.

Well if you want to use an old railroad station there is one in old city park in Farmers branch. Also yesterday I had to go to Wylie and in Sachse they have a Caboose that the city owns and is set up next to the railroad tracks in town

I love this location that you used in these photos. Can you tell me where in Rowlett it is?

To be honest Allison I have no clue. The mother had me follow her on some back roads. I was lost. I do know that someone else owned it. They stopped us to see what we were doing. I know this doesn't help, but I do remember going by an elementary school. Sorry I am no help

I took some pictures here of my son. It's on Main St. and Rowlett Rd...My the historical society and library, but you might not see this straight off of Main St., but it's there :). Look to your left when you get on Main St.

I did a recent TTD session with JEddington an leslie and Sherese.
We ended up at some silos and tracks somewhere near Mckinney I think.

I was just following along, and have no idea exactly where we were.

Thanks guys. I think I know what silos you are talking about. Were they close to downtown Mckinney or off of 380?

They're close to downtown McKinney.
