Shooting Bridals at Six Flags? - 03-17-2009, 10:18 PM

I had kind of an odd request today...a bride wants to take pictures at a theme park with roller coasters and thought of Six Flags. Does anyone know if that's a place you could even shoot at? My guess would be no, but I wanted to see if anyone else had any idea.

Or, is there any other place in the DFW area that has amusement rides, roller coasters, or similar? I'm drawing a blank...

I would think Six flags would welcome the opportunity as long as there was some publicity in it for them.

Well, here are the basic rules spelled out on the Six Flags site, but they don't really say that much:

"PHOTOGRAPHY

Cameras are not permitted on rides. Six Flags Magic Mountain requests that all photographs or videos taken by Guests be used for their personal use and enjoyment only. Any use, reuse or reproduction for commercial purposes without the express written consent of Six Flags Magic Mountain is prohibited.

COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY

By entering the Park, each Guest grants Six Flags Magic Mountain the right to film, videotape or photograph him/her on Park property for any reason, without payment or consideration. All Six Flags Magic Mountain rides, shows and attractions are protected by copyright. Guests must have written permission to use photographs and/or videotape of Six Flags Magic Mountain images for commercial broadcasting, advertising, marketing or publishing in any medium."

I'd suggest contacting the communications office to see about getting permission. Better safe than sorry!

I'd ask Brad. He knows a lot about Six Flags and photography.
