Came upon a fire scene today and was captivated by the firemen trying to give oxygen to a cat that had been in the house and eaten a lot of smoke.

Thanks Jakestr

#4 made page 7B of the Star-Telegram today...

A fairly rare "stand alone photo" with no story except the caption.

Captain, nice job on those pics especially the last one. I can see the the Star Telegram ran that one without a story. The picture tells a story all by itself without any help from text.

I too enjoyed seeing your work in today's FWST. When I saw the photo, I said: "Hey, I know who took that!"

Kudos to you.

Thanks everybody. It was interesting in the respect that I have a scanner in my car, but didn't hear this call which was just a few blocks from my home. I just happened to get there by chasing the fire truck.
I guess it would be too much to hope that the ST would have run it in color........
I am thinking of making a print of the shot and taking it to the firehouse....
I don't know if this fireman is getting ribbed for reviving a cat or not, but I think he is a hero.

This is how it ran:

Eight lives left (photo only)
Fort Worth firefighter Starrett Keele gives oxygen to a cat rescued from a house fire in the 5500 block of Sam Calloway Road. The cat, the only one home, survived

CaptainTom I like the shots and the fact that these guys risked their lives to save the family pet.

Business question. Did you get paid for the photo?
