UPDATE: FAULTY LINK Arlington: Real people needed as models May 4-7 - 04-15-2009, 11:30 PM

It seems that the link I posted was a faulty Link. Here is the updated link:

http://texasschool.org/texas_school_model_app_2009.htm

If you tried to go to the original link please resubmit your information to the new link. Cybergremlins at work!! The school still needs 100 models of all ages, genders, creeds, and national origins.

We need real people, not model wannabes. If you are a real people and are not attending the school see if you can find a time to come to Arlington for a great experience.

I will owe you an ADULT BEVERAGE!!

I received this e-mail from Don Dickson, Director of Texas School of professional Photography:

Quote:
We are still in need of volunteers to be model for Texas School. If you have applied and have not received a confirmation email from us, please submit an application again. We seemed to have had a bit of a problem with receiving some of the applications.

This year we have moved our school to a new location. We will be holding Texas School in Arlington Texas on the campus of U.T. Arlington. If you or someone you know would like to volunteer to model our model registration is online ready to accept applications. Once you submit an application please allow 2 weeks to hear from us with your schedule.

Texas School is May 3-8. You will receive a $200 photo credit for each time that you model. Please go to www.texasschool.org to register to be a model. We are in need of children, brides, family, high school seniors, etc. just about anything that you would photograph in your own studio.
He is not looking for wannabe models, but real individuals, engaged couples, brides or recent brides, families, and children of all ages. This is a wonderful opportunity to have professional portraits created by some of the industries greatest photographers. If you are a photographer you will not only receive wonderful images, but also a great learning experience.

Andrew, thanks for responding. You should be able to click on this link: http://texasschool.org/tx_school_model_app.php and fill out the form. It lets you indicate when you are available and how many sessions you are willing to do.

There is no charge to do this in fact there is a $200.00 portrait credit for each session that you do. The credit should get you a couple of 8X10's and maybe some wallets. Or you can apply it towards a wall portrait. I have seen some awesome images created at this school over the years.

You could sign up for a sunrise session Wednesday morning and be back to Brownwood in time for work.

Here is some additional information from the application:

2009 Texas School of Professional Photography
Model Volunteer Application

Thank you for your interest in volunteering your time for Texas School. Our school is part of the Texas Professional Photographers Association and is the largest professional photography school in the nation.

Each April we hold a week long school educating photographers from all over the United States and beyond. This year we have 35 instructors and approx 1000 professional photographers attending. Our school will be held on and around campus at the University of Texas at Arlington for
May 3-8, 2009.

The purpose of recruiting volunteers to be photographed is for demonstration purposes. Our instructors will use volunteer models to demonstrate to their class different poses and lighting techniques. In return, not only do our volunteers have the opportunity to be photographed by the top professional photographers in the country, but you will also receive a $200 credit towards photographs from your session.

We have over 300 spots to fill. We need a variety of different types of volunteers. Here are some of the examples: individual female, individual male, uniform, family, couples, bride (we provide the gown), bride and groom (we provide the gown & tux), kids, mother with baby.

Man, I'd round up my handsome son and his extremely photogenic wife and beautiful baby for this if we weren't already taking them off to the wilds of British Columbia that week on vacation. It turns out there are so many things we are missing in the DFW area that week and this is definitely one of them.

In that case you need to register as a student. The fee for the entire week is only $485.00 and that is the best investment you could ever make in your photography career. Here is the link: https://www.tppa.org/forms/register.php

There seems to have been a problem with the link that I posted. Here is the new link:

http://texasschool.org/texas_school_model_app_2009.htm

Some cyberspace gremlins didn't want the fine folks on TPF to be photographed by one of the world's great photographers and receive $200.00 worth of free prints in exchange for their time.

Okay Don, I will be waiting for that adult beverage. I just got my schedule for two sessions. This is great, because I wasn't able to sign up as a student.

My oldest daughter is named Deborah and if you are as lovely as she is, it will indeed be my pleasure. Do you know which instructors you will be sitting for?

I know them both and I guarantee that you will have a great time. Their styles are very different, so pay attention and you will learn a ton for free. With Ralph it will help if you brush up on your Cajun.
