Plano locations w/ flowers - 04-25-2009, 02:09 PM

I have a shoot for a 1YO in June - the family lives in Plano - and I'm in Rockwall. The Mom is interested in outdoor photos - preferably with some flowers in the background. Aside from the Arboretum - does anyone have any suggestions for a park or something that would have shade, and be either in Plano, or anywhere inbetween Plano and Rockwall?

The Nature preserve is on the far west side of Plano.... beautiful. A concrete trail loops into some nice, varied areas.

Bob Woodruff park is on the east side. It has a duck pond.

Both have nice playgrounds too.

If you're OK with the $8 admission fee, then try The Heard in McKinney.

We were at Bob Woodruff Park today, and it is nice. The only flowers I noticed were along Park Road on the way in, though. There is a little fishing pier that might be useful.

Your too late. Not going to find many flowers in public parks in Texas this time of year. All natural flowers are gone now. You will find some cultured flowers like roses and such. But not on public property.
If you want flowers you are going to look for them in the Spring.

Most of the wildflowers do look like weeds now (if they haven't been mowed), but there are some wild yellow flowers here and there.

I have a bunch of yellow wildflowers in my back yard, but you probably don't want to drive all the way out here!

The Spring Creek Forest Preserve in Garland by GWB had wildflowers the last time I checked. I'll check again in the next day or so.

I was at Spring Creek Preserve back on Friday (I think) and the wild flowers were looking nice. I had fun with my kenkos.
Another nice place but no flowers is Breckinridge Park.
