Cool Ranch in Arlington? - 06-24-2009, 11:22 AM

Anyoen know of a ranch/barn/farmhouse near Arlington that would be suitable for a western/rustic shoot? Besides for driving around & knocking on doors, I don't know where else to research this particular topic!!

Thanks in advance!!

There was a place in Ferris called "Old Fort Dallas" which is now part of Shadow Creek Ranch I believe. It's an event place/movie set with a western town main street. It'd definitely be worth the drive depending on the fees to use it. Do a Google search for photos of it.

Hmm, ok let me rephrase. I haven't been down there as a photographer. I've been to rodeos & stuff but only a few times so I'm not familiar with the area, so yeah, I mean which buildings & streets are the best, so I can plot my course :)

I have a shoot at Clark Gardens in Weatherford scheduled that Saturday.

Gonna be damned hot at 4pm. Check out the times when the herd goes down main street and get some shots of that event as well. Plus, the steam train is
likely to be in the station that afternoon.

Lots of stuff.

Herds are 11 and 3 if it hasnt changed. Stacy,
Another location off I 30 about 5 miles E of 360 is the Cedar Hill state park. http://www.cedarhillstatepark.org/
They also have pavellions and the park is on the East shore of Joe Pool lake. Also located at the state park is Penn Farms http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/spdest/f...dar_hill/#penn
This area is kinda neat as there are a lot of old farm implements around and also old "out buildings" http://travel.webshots.com/photo/287...61915159QkHtOj

The Perry Homestead in Carrollton(?) has just what you are looking for, just off of Belt Line, a bit east of IH35, iirc.
