Northwest of Dallas/Fort Worth - 10-02-2009, 10:49 AM

I'm going to be doing a shoot NW of DFW around the town of Poolville. I'm going to have some time before/after the shoot and would like to take some nice landscape shots. I've never been out that direction...does anyone know of anything anywhere NW of Fort Worth that would be nice to take some pictures of? Thanks!

well if you're coming to Poolville from HWY 199 then you're going to pass through Springtown Texas. (DUH u probably know that) I live in springtown and there is some very pretty land all along HWY 199 as well as off of Springtown Square and in The local park.

Jonathon,

If you're going to Poolville, there is plenty of things to photograph there. All along highway 51 between Weatherford and Springtown you can get some nice panorama views from some of the hills in the roadway, nice western sunsets too. As well, highway 920 has good views and a lot of old farmhouses/barns too. And of course there is always Weatherford proper. Its got a very nice square with old shops, feed stores, antique stores and all that good stuff.

Oh, and if you want to go further than that head out west on 199 and swing around through Graham, Mineral Smells, and Possum Kingdom Lake.
