Hey all, just wondering if anyone has shot here before? I might be doing a shoot for a friend and his daughter this coming weekend there. Texas Sculpture Garden | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. SIGN UP today and help support our community.

William, I am glad you posted that link. It looks like they have really spun around on their policies on photography over the last 18 months. They used to all but run off all photography over artist/copyright concerns.
I am very proud to tell you how Photographer-friendly Frisco has been and it is only getting better, it seems. Quote:

I just went by there during lunch today to scope it out. The lady inside the building said you can take pictures of the sculptures but only "snapshots" with no tripods or large equipment.

Me and my fiance went out there on a Sunday afternoon and did some pictures of the two of us. With me being the photographer, obviously I can take the picture and be in the picture at the same time. So I used a Tripod and the timer on the camera. We were there almost and hour and a half, and notbody come up to us or said anything about using a tripod.

A friend of mine and myself went there last summer and had TONS of issues with "the snapshot lady", to the point that I contacted Mr. Halls office and made a complaint. They mailed me a video and apologized for her rude behavior, But the first person I spoke to doubted that she was that rude to me, and they acted like we "must have done something to her" to cause this action. It's refreshing to see that we are not the issue, she is!!!!
Their website states that photographers are welcome, But when you arrive that is NOT the attitude that is present.
I wont be back

Well, in a year or two, she won't have much to worry about. Between the RR museum, regional park, and the new regional Arts center, there won't be much, if any, interest in a "Texas Sculpture Garden" photographically. Especially since there is practically no other camera unfriendly place in Frisco, except for some restrictions at the stadiums or arena. Heck, we had 30+ photogs all over the Heritage Center one evening, and had the run of place, including the area around Babe's.
Of course, if no one is showcasing her employer anymore, and no one to run out to and scold, employment might be a worry...bless her heart.

I used to work in the office park there and never saw much of a draw for photographers. All those buildings in the background and all. Got out there today and got a couple of shots I'm pretty pleased with! The ones with the water in the background were taken there this morning. Password is "bleau".

Yeah, I worked in "Hall Office Park" for two years. I shot the sculptures once. It wasn't that interesting with all the backgrounds. However, there are a few fountains that you can take advantage of as well. Just go shoot it. You'll have fun and at least you'll be off the couch!
