I know bluebonnets will be in bloom soon (March/April). I seem to remember there was an area in Frisco that usually has them. Does anyone know the location of that area or know of any other good spots in the N. Dallas area? | | | | | Sponsored Links | Premium Members do not see Google advertisements. Liz, if Ennis isn't too far a drive, I highly recommend this event. We went there last year and there are literally acres and acres of bluebonnets in several locations throughout the bluebonnet trail. Go here for information.

Thanks, yes I heard about Ennis, and just missed the festival last year. I am sure I will be going there this year, but was also looking for closer locations for client photos shoots.
There is a place in Frisco that I've heard about, Zion Cememtary that usually has them. Just not sure about other places that might be close.

If you are just looking for bluebonnets and can shoot around buildings (basically down) there were beautiful ones behind the 7-11 at Custer and Spring Creek in Plano.

I have a spot in Wylie that I've used for a couple of years now, but learning the super-secret location will cost ya!
If I remember, I'll dig up a photo from last year to see if anyone is interested. With all the rain, I'm hoping for a spectacular wildflower season.

It's a beautiful, but unlikely, spot for bluebonnets. And far off the road so it's safe for kids. Still have to dig out a pic, but then I'll share the location, too. Just don't want a ton of TPF'ers tramplin' the 'bonnets before I can make it out there.

This week I traveled up I-45 from Houston to Ennis, then across 287 through Waxahachie, Mansfield, and on to the city park in White's Settlement in Fort Worth. Going and then returning home, I didn't see the first Bluebonnet. I also didn't get off the beaten path either. I was gong to shoot a softball tournament, but had "signs of spring" on the brain! :-)

There's a great field near the George Bush Tollway and Shiloh next to the Fujitsu building. It is next to a highway, but there is a little leeway for pretty backgrounds. All of the pictures in this promo ( Bluebonnet Mini Sessions {A Texas Tradition} Lindsay Horn Photography {The Blog}) were taken there last year (before I had officially started my business). I'll be checking in for word on that super-secret spot too! :)

There is a rest stop near Lake Lavon on highway 78 that usually is covered by bluebonnets. There is a historic old cemetary behind it with the grave of an American Revolutionary soldier. A few days ago the flowers weren't in bloom. Should be soon now though.
