Has anyone ever used the Grapevine Botanical Gardens for a Spring Shoot?
I need a nice location this weekend for some mini sessions.

Any recommendations would be great!

It's a nice place, but not on par with the Ft. Worth Botanic Garden or the Arboretum in Dallas.

And you have to pay a commercial fee. I just bought a Dallas Arboretum membership that includes bringing up to 6 people; but even if you don't do that; the family just has to pay the normal fee to get in.

FW charges by the hour.

From their website:
http://www.grapevinetexas.gov/Portal...ercontract.pdf

And there is also a sign outside that I saw when I went last year that says the same.

Interesting-- I emailed them a few weeks ago and got a reply that I did not have to pay. I guess I will just keep a copy of the email in my bag and see what happens!

I e-mailed them last fall and got the same response. My understanding is that there used to be fees, but they've since stopped doing that. Those signs have all been taken down too.

Grapevine is really trying to become a Tourist Hotspot. I'll bet they like to get all of the exposure they can.

Nash Farms just up the street is a real cool place too.

This is good news as long as photographers respect the property. It's nice to know that I can now do client shoots there without having to exact an additional fee from the client.

Excellent news. Thanks! I work with the folks all around Frisco, and with one exception, they and their venues remain photo-friendly. Nice to hear GV is seeing the advantages and revisiting their policies.

Good reminder to any that its a privaledge, and not their God given right (to shoot clients anywhere they choose) and that attitude, respect, and self-control will keep these venues open freely to all.
