I read the FAQs too and that's why I didn't bother asking the owner of that blog. I understand it's nice to have a cool locale, but sometimes it seems it would be better to work together than against one another.

I think to comment on that blog yoooo've goooot to use a loooooot of o's in your words, as in "That's sooooooo beautiful. Loooooove it!" Gag.
My guess is that the school bus isn't at that location; there's still too much glass in the windows and possibly the fire extinguisher beneath the driver's seat. That's a concept one could replicate with access to a school bus in the right lighting conditions. I'm not concerned about not knowing that exact location. One thing that separates the good and better photographers is being able to use nearly ANY location with good effect.

This is what irks me about MANY photographers. The unwillingness to help each other out. One thing that really amazes me is that when I attend a PPA convention or local monthly meeting, although many of these photographers are in competition more or less for the same clients and $$$$$, they help each other out.
This photographer has some great stuff on their website, but I always try to help another photographer out, since so many have helped me in the past, as well.
Paying it forward brings about good results.

Well I can agree with both sides. Most of the time I am more than happy to help someone out, but there are a few locations that I will keep to myself and I am not telling anybody. Sometimes, if you find a really sweet locations, you rather just keep it for yourself instead of having it become grand central station like so many other popular photography backdrops.

To each his own. I see your point and agree with you to a certain extent. But I do try to help new photographers out when I can, as so many people have helped me in the past, as well.

If you drive around the country areas outside Denton...Justin...anywhere actually, you'll see locations like this all the time. Just contact the owner and get permission to shoot. Most people don't mind (at least in my experience). If you find a place you like, you might even work in a location fee that goes to the property owner.

If I find a good location that is private and I've gotten approval to shoot there I don't want to advertise the spot so that other photogs will come and destroy the relationship I have with the owner.
You probably wouldn't mess it up, but we know there are many who would.
