new to area - looking for locations

Hey all! I'm somewhat new to the area and am wondering what some of your favorite places to shoot are. I'm just a photo enthusiast with no real intention of becoming a pro, so I don't really want to go places where I have to pay. I really love to shoot nature and architecture, but I also have a lot of friends request portraits.

Can anyone let me in on some good places for these types of shoots? I live in Keller, but don't mind traveling a little. The only places I've shot so far are Deep Ellum and Trinity Park. I've looked through the forum and found a couple spots I'm going to try out, but would love some more suggestions.

For portraits, Keller itself isn't bad. There's the small Old Town area with some oldish buildings, the train display, Bear Creek Park, the Parks at Town Center behind Keller Town Hall, the creek, etc. etc. etc. Also keep the Fort Worth Stockyards in mind, as well as downtown Fort Worth. I know of some other places – I worked in Keller for 6.5 years, including as the editor of the newspaper – but you'll just have to explore on your own, too!
