Photographs with Children - Around Lewisville / Flower Mound area - 06-14-2010, 10:05 AM

I am having a session with some kids i believe their ages are 11 & 8, its for a friend of mine. Looking for just maybe some woods, maybe some playground equipment (a park perhaps) or maybe just some nice buildings or something. in or around the Lewisville / flower Mound area .... (this is about the halfway point for them and I. )Im not around that area often, and would like to get some good ideas before travelling up there to scope things out... :-) I am familiar with the great train station and old town of Grapevine... looking for something different (the family was down there in the fall taking pics)
any help is greatly appreciated :-)

highland village has a little park that's cute, with a little windy river, a low stone walled bridge, and empties out into a quiet park with lots of open, grassy space. there's a spot by the stream that's surrounded by trees too if you go off the sidewalk. i think if you google highland park community center you can find it. you just park there and walk on the sidewalk towards the park area.

downtown lewisville is good for old brick buildings, its a small area, but go behind the main st front and back in behind on either side and you'll find tons of stuff.

definitely doable.

also there's a small pond behind an office park on old denton rd at fm 3040. there's a small road that runs behind the buildings, hillcrest maybe? it's off that road right before you hit old denton. we've seen wildlife back there, so careful!

oh yeah - parks- try the central park on edmonds - it has playground equipment, a gazebo, a big empty field, and a trail that runs along a river into some woods.
