SMU has some beautiful architecture and greenery. Does anyone know if you need a permit to photograph on their grounds? I will probably bring a Doug Box aka speedlite base softbox which means I will draw attention to myself.

Just don't know what their policies are if any.

Thanks, Scott.

On a Saturday a few months ago, I spent several hours on campus photographing my daughter. No one said anything including security that drove by a time or two. Maybe her being in her graduation attire had something to do with it.

I'm guessing the content of what your shooting might make a difference as well.

I know that Highland Park United Methodist (corner of Hillcrest and Mockingbird) allows photography (outside only) on the grounds. It has very nice architecture, but I was using only a reflector so I had a pretty low-key setup.
