Plano Grungy Alley Location? - 09-09-2010, 08:24 AM

I have a senior who wants to do a photo shoot with his car in a grungy alley.

It doesn't have to be as grungy as Deep Ellum, just an alley with old brick (not new stone or brick) would work great as a backdrop.

Please let it be an alternative to Downtown Plano, as that place is always overused too much and swarming with photographers, to the point that some seniors have said "I'll shoot anywhere in Plano except for Downtown Plano -- everyone gets shots there."

My studio is in north Plano near the border with Allen (around Hedgecoxe and Custer), so hopefully there is a location no more than 10 or 15 minutes away for easy access.

Thanks so much!!

If you find an old alley in this area that isn't over used, you better keep it to yourself, because that's one hell of a find. :)

Haven't been up there in a long time (before I took up a camera too) but how does the old town square in McKinney look for an alley?

The Douglass Community Center has a covered basketball court. I think it would be cool to drive the car to the basketball court, put some blue-gelled flashes under the car, underexpose ambient a bit and use a softbox on your senior by the car... wide angle, perhaps white balance shifting, some desaturation ...I can see a cool and unique picture there. You'll need permission from the nice folks running Douglass.
