Dallas Arboretum/Admission Question - 09-15-2010, 03:41 PM

Not sure if this is the correct place to post this question. But I was wondering...when you have a session that wants to shoot at the Arboretum, do you have them pay the admission price for you and them or do you cover yourself?

I have had about 4 people call me today inquiring about the Arboretum, plus I have a day set to do Pumpkin pics...I was discussing with my husband that we might wants to purchase a membership, and he thinks that the people I am shooting should cover my admission.

Thoughts?

I've found that it is just a lot easier to get a family membership and then you can walk right in without having to wait in line to purchase tickets during busy times or have to pay for parking. Plus, it's a nice touch that you can bring a certain number of guests (clients) with you without charge. While technically, if you are making a special trip there to photograph someone, you could figure the price of your ticket as an expense, why not just pay once a year and be done with it?

I've assisited three bridal sessions at the Arboretum, and the bride paid for the photographer, as well as my, admission all three times.

I just had a Bridal shoot there ... BEAUTIFUL place! I do like Lisa's idea where memberships are available. Otherwise, the client pays normally. I like to have comparable locations in mind to offer the bride in case funds are low.

We have a membership and can get 6 people in so I guess we pay but it is well worth it.
