I guess I'm asking for too much but what is the closest place to the metroplex where i can find great autumn colors and water falls (or even lakes) ?

I did search the forum but didn't find anything worthy...

There are some waterfalls at Prairie Creek Park in Richardson.. Search Prairie Creek you'll find a thread with photos. Fall colors.. Wait a couple more weeks :)

Thanks Brandi. that's a lot closer then I could have hoped.

I'll give that place a try soon and then just wait till the colors start changing.

Thanks again

Closest real water fall is Turner Falls in Oklahoma just across the border but not sure what sort of Fall colors they have. You probably will have to go to Arkansas to find what you want, a bit closer than New Mexico/Colorado. The water falls in Richardson are just a short man made drop that wouldn't qualify as a true waterfall in most books, more like a babbling brook.
