I don't know of any place on the east side of town. It's not a bad drive on 121.

I would say go to the Stockyards or just hit up the country... maybe head north or outside McKinney area for a smaller town feel??

Hmmm, not really, other than the big collection of steer sculptures down by City Hall in downtown Dallas or Old City Park (I know it has a different name now, but can't think of it). It's not "western" but it is a taste of early life in Dallas. I don't know what Old City Park's photography policy is, though. Neither one really gives you the same feel as the Stockyards, though, but those are my best takes on "Western" in Dallas.

No. Dallas works as hard as possible at not having anything that feels Ft. Worth. If they want that cool western feel, just have them drive over to the stockyards.
