Yes, there is a fee. It's $50, and there is a sign there with the info on who to contact. The only problem is that it's hard to get someone on the phone, and when you leave a message, they don't return your call. The fee is for outdoor areas only, and it doesn't include the church. I believe it's around $200 to shoot in the church.

You used to not have to pay a fee to shoot there. It's something that happened pretty recently. Now, you do, and you can't shoot at all inside the buildings.

I finally got a hold of someone. Here is how their fees work for in the chapel and outside in the public areas
$50.00 - Outdoor Still Photography Fee (per day, PER SITTING)
Indoor Still Photography Fee – (Bella Donna Chapel, Kastel, True Rumors) Call for Pricing
Bella Donna Chapel Photography - $250.00 per hour – two hour minimum
Commercial Advertisement Photography – Call for pricing
Then, i got the following review from a bride who went for a consulation
"Then we went to Adriatca in McKinney. What a WASTE of our time. We had high hopes for this chapel when we looked at it last fall, but man did that crash and burn. For those that don’t know, Adriatica is a little “village” designed after a Croatian town. It has serious potential to be great, but they are still under construction. They have made ZERO progress in designing the rest of the buildings that are essential to having a ceremony and reception there. The chapel has a very gothic and theatrical feel. There is no parking – they have been “working” on a parking garage that has been there for at least a year and I swear nothing has changed; it is still a gigantic slab of concrete. They have plans to build a hotel, a reception venue, a rustic ship, a bridal suite etc. All the events coordinator (who is the daughter of the owners) was that she didn’t even know when the parking garage would be finished, and that they didn’t even have a ground breaking date on anything else – SERIOUSLY this place has been here for almost TWO years and you don’t have plans to finish what you started? This, currently, is not a chapel I would pay over $2500 for. Maybe 2015 knotties might find some potential in this place… if it’s even done then, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up."
Sounds like it may be a nice place to shoot outdoors - but they don't really have all their ducks in a row.

Always amusing to read reviews like that. I mean, it wouldn't possibly be, because funding dried up since 07/08... it's not like there are ANY other development plans in the metroplex that have come to a grinding halt or slowed/delayed since their initial plans after the economy started tanking a few years ago. ;)

| I called recently and was transferred to Mandi (214-240-4131). My take was they really haven't quite figured this photo thing out and are just kind of flying by the seat of their pants. | | | |

same here, i was out there about 3 weeks ago and was approached by some lady, she gave me her bus. card and told me all about the fees. We were shooting at the bell tower and the fee there was $50, but the chapel was an addn'l $250.
Still lots of dirt everywhere, the grass hasnt set in yet. I dont remember seeing any construction equipment, but i wasnt looking for any.
I dont see what the hype is all about, I'll never go back there, there are lots of other prettier places to shoot.

been there, found it to be pretty duff.. Only interesting bit there is chapel across the water shot.. but its way too crowded and other side of pond is a bit too busy with structures.

I can't believe they are charging for outdoor photography, what a joke! I went there when it was first being built and took some fun bridals of unfinished buildings and what not. Then did several family portraits around christmas time. How can they charge you to take pictures outside?!? It's not a private development, there's a starbucks there for goodness sake. They just saw people taking pictures and want to take advantage by charging money for it. WHAT A JOKE.

WHAT A JOKE. | Yes it is a private development, that a Starbucks lease's space there doesn't mean anything other than it's good place for a Starbucks. You just seem to be upset that you can't get something for nothing. That the company that developed the property sees an oppourtunity charge a fee for using thier property as a photo backdrop seems fair. You can bet if you take a client out there and the client gets injured on thier property the client's attorney is going to sue you and the property owners.
