Roanoke, Texas Locale???

One of my clients hired me to do a large (8) family photoshoot with the Grandparents in Roanoke, Texas.....at 4:30pm :(

I am nervous about the sun, and finding a large enough shady area for that many people.

Any suggestions????

I'm so not familiar with Roanoke - have you been there before? is there a downtown area? You might consider placing the sun behind them and shooting "back lit" depending on how high the sun will be behind them. are you shooting at a specific location or is it TBD in Roanoke?

I have never been there either - not familiar, AT ALL! No specific location as of now, just trying to find something near their home so we wouldn't have to go far!

oh wow, I'm a total dork. (it must be the hours of home renovation torture I got to be part of tonight, my brain is dead!!) because good grief, I'm familiar with Roanoke!!!

downtown area, super cute. have them meet you there. Just look it up on google maps - look for Babe's chicken dinner house in Roanoke - or Twisted Root burger company. lots of cute buildings so you should be able to find plenty of even shade. now I remember squealing about cool buildings for photos while there after meeting Brandon's family for dinner (at Babe's!). sorry, it took me a moment to realize I knew this place!! LOL
