Abandoned church? - 03-28-2011, 10:40 PM

Does anyone know any abandoned church? Ideally I'm looking for an old abandoned church in the middle of a field. Maybe it's far fetched but hey...

(It can be anywhere in DFW.)

Thanks!!!

This is indeed open to the public. However, it's a bit of a drive. This is located here:

Churches - Google Maps

It's abandoned, but it's open and there is actually a sign-in sheet once inside. It still has everything but the pews. You can even climb up into the tower. The stained glass is still intact and it's in decent shape. I found this one night and got just basic shots of it, with the intent of going back and doing a real shoot here.

Sorry, but that's about the only decent church that I know of in the area, that is still virtually intact and is accessible.

I know of several other churches, however there would be trespassing involved - 8-)

What are you intending on shooting and how? Does it need to truly be abandoned, or ?

What I'm picturing is something really old, not well maintained, that we will have easy access to. Usually a place that matches that description will be abandoned. Most of the shots we will be taking will be in front of the church, and a few inside if we can, but its ok if we can't.

If you could tell me the churches, I will worry about the trespassing. 0:)

Well, if that's too far, the others probably will be too. (I know of several near Cisco and that general area - Ranger too.)
