Best View of the Bass Hall Angels - 04-09-2011, 09:38 PM

I have a client who wants to do some photos in downtown Fort Worth. She specifically mentioned the angels on Bass Hall and maybe getting into a parking lot. I have shot by Bass Hall once when I had a wedding in Fort Worth but I'm pretty much a Dallas girl so I am not sure..

So..

Where's the best place to shoot and get a nice view of the angels in the background? What are the rules with the parking garages? I thought I read someone getting hassled shooting in a garage down there, but I think it was at night.

Any input from those on the West Side (hehe) is greatly appreciated!

Only way I know of to get them in a portrait background is the parking garage between 3rd and 4th on Calhoun, east of the movie theater. I've shot from there, but I've never actually done a portrait "shoot" there so I can't attest to rules or security hassles.

The parking garage across the street top floor we've done them there but not the best angle. We've also shot on the blacony where the angels are but it was a paid rental at the time so we had easy access.

Security told me the parking garage was private property and chased us off the last time I was there.

I was on top of that parking garage yesterday. From what I saw, it the highest/closest you could get to the angels. At least publicly, haha.

I'll see what shots I have, from that viewpoint, at home tonight.

I've shot there many times never had a issue. Lucky or stupid I guesss ;-)

We don't block traffic, and are only there for a little bit.
