Advice on a good deal.

I bought a Nikon D70 with a 24-120mm lens, 70-300mm lens and a Lowpro Orion AW bag. I realize that it is an older model camera, but feel it is a step up somewhat from my Sony A200. I paid $300 for it all. Did I get a good deal?

The camera/lenses where never dropped, very well taken care of and in fact it all looks new. Except of course the bag shows minor wear, but that isn't a big deal to me.

Any and all feed back would be very much appreciated. I am new to photography, and have only been at it for a little under a year.

What is the 'f' number of each lens and are they the VR type?

I just did a search on ebay for "Nikon AF-S Nikkor 24-120mm f/4G ED VR Lens New" and the hits go to over $1300.

The body is from $100ish to $300 for a mint condition one.

You might like to see what ebay tells you for the exact items you purchased.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Those D70 bodies are very sturdy and durable. It should serve you well.

You got a good deal. You got a better deal if you bought the camera to take pictures with rather than as a financial investment. Go take pictures, you'll feel better about the purchase.

Thanks for all the advice guys. Like I said, I have a Sony A200 and stumbled upon this deal. To me it is a big step up from my Sony, and can't wait to start shooting with the D70.
