Question Interesting water towers in the dallas area? - 04-20-2011, 06:32 PM

Hi, I'm in the middle of a project for a photography course at collin on water towers. You can see what i've done so far on my blog

I'm in need of some suggestions for interesting water towers in the dallas area, either because of what they look like, their history, or something else (like wildlife around the towers etc) - something outside of the standard column with cap and the city name.

I would appreciate any suggestions on interesting shooting opportunities
thanks!

The one in Princeton is sticking out to me for some reason, not sure why but it does. Also, there is a cool old metal looking one you can see from South Dallas (specifically from the Lofty Spaces venue, if you look it up).

Try Stacy Rd. east of 75 but before you get to Angel Dr. There is a tower on the north side of the road just east of the malls.

Thanks again for the suggestions Brandi and Glen. I got to downtown, allen and Princeton today. If you're interested you can see the captures on Water Tower World. Here's one of my favorites from today:

Just checked out your web site. Very interesting. I never thought of a water tower specific album.

As for the pair of water towers in Parker, If you take Parker Rd, east they are at the new fire station just before you get the Murphy Rd and South Fork Ranch. There is the older Parker water tower and the new one was finished this year.

Best place you'll find...

Texas water towers.
