Went there for the first time yesterday - very beautiful, lots of pretty "backdrops" all kinds of neat photo ops - birds, scenics, waterfalls, awesome place to spend the day!

The only problem I have is the $75 commercial photography fee. It is great when I just go there to test new filters etc....but ouchie...

While that might seem high, it is really quite reasonable considering commercial photographers are using the private property to generate a profit. I would gladly pay it, and then pass the fee on to the client.

Oh, I agree, I didn't say it was unreasonable. I have seen way higher fees...lol

I am just starting out, so as of right now, my butt is squeaking...

I'm not commercial and didn't pay a fee, but they (at least a few years ago) had a no tripod policy. I assume you pay the fee, you can use a tripod?

The botanical gardens, believe it is called the Conservatory.
They frequently mist during the summers giving a uniform fine droplet dispersal. The summer sun comes through the windows casting great rays and shadows. Impressive to a noob, only photo justice will be done by a higher skill level than mine and the lucky.
