ISO Sunflowers Field - 07-07-2011, 10:50 PM

Hi - Looking for a sunflower field with large sunflowers in the McKinney, Frisco area. My spot in Plano dried up since we need some rain. Thanks for any input.

They don't need rain in McKinney and Frisco, too?

Try the Dallas north toll road, from 380 - go north about 5 miles on the right side. It's excellent.

Todd - that is an amazingly stunning photo!! It's exactly what I had envisioned. We are going tomorrow. When was your photo taken? Will they still be yellow?
Thank you so much - I can't tell you how excited I am just to see it!

Thanks!

The sun was setting and yes, this was taken last Friday night... so they should still be in fine shape. (they're currently about 3.5 ft tall)

That is absolutely stunning...I drove on Dallas North Tollway passing 380 and stayed on the DNT going North til it dead-ended to a farm road...and didn't see the sunflower fields on the right. Do you think they were cut down?

They are hard to see from the main road because there is another field of wheat(or something) in front of the sunflowers. If you turn right on CD 51(dirt road) it will take you to the other side so you can get the sun behind them.
This was shot about a week after Todd was there.

But my friend went there on Friday and said they were all welted and about dead so maybe that's why you didn't see them.

EDIT: Nevermind, I missed your last post.
