Locale Wanted: Boat dock or Arched Bridge - 09-17-2007, 03:14 PM

I'm looking for a locale - a public park or lake in the Fort Worth area (or north or west of there), that has an old wooden boat dock or fishing pier similar to this:

An alternative would be some city park with a pretty little wooden arched bridge going over a creek like they have at the Japanese Gardens.

I'm looking for a spot that's safe, not too crowded on a weekday where one can bring dogs for a shot I have in mind.

Anyone know of any place right off?

Thanks.

I know of one. One is the entrance to the Silver Ridge subdivision off of White Settlement Road west of 820. It's a park-like area and I have shot there many times (and I don't live there). There is a small wooden dock (not as long as in your example). There's also a windmill and watertank/waterfall. There is also a small wooden bridge. The challenge is not getting the traffic on White Settlement or the light poles/lines in your pics but it is a pretty location.

Thanks very kindly, Debbi. I'll give that a try next time I go to Fort Worth.

Benbrook Lake might have some. I've only been there once, and it was last year when the water was down 7+ feet. It does cost to get in to the parks, but I'm sure the dogs are welcomed.

Try any of the US Army Corps of Engineers lakes...a few...Benbrook, Joe Pool, Grapevine, Lewisville. There is also a new dock at Lake Granbury and a few old ones around town.

Thanks.
