Ft. Worth Botanic Gardens

Has anyone who shot at the Ft. Worth Botanic Gardens know how strictly they enforce the "professional" photographer's fee?

Their website says that professional photographers (which their website defines as someone getting paid to take photographs) have to pay $75 per hour: professional photographers—defined as anyone being paid for taking photographs—must pay the Garden a photography fee to take portraits of individuals or groups in the Garden.

I am doing a free engagement shoot there this month for a friend and wonder if they will ask me to pay if they see what they consider professional equipment (big white lens, camera with a batter grip, or both)?

Will do. I'm laid back and little rattles my cage, so I wouldn't be worried or embarrased anyway. I just didn't want to have to explain myself over and over.

BTW, I called (imagine that) and the supervisor said I wouldn't have to pay since I'm taking photography classes at local college, but I should get a (free) permit anyway to help keep things going smoothly.

I only paid the entrance fee...they didn't ask me to pay any additonal fee with my camera, bag, big lens, reflector, tripod.
