McKINNEY, Texas
(May 7, 2009) – McKinney Main Street announced today that the Art
Walk event is set for Saturday, May 30, from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. in Historic Downtown
McKinney. Over 75 local and regional artists and musicians are expected to showcase
their artwork throughout the historic shopping district.
“We are looking forward to showcasing our wonderful historic district to the community
and beyond to celebrate the arts and enjoy the unique atmosphere that our downtown
has to offer,” McKinney Main Street Program Director Ty Lake stated. “It is a great
opportunity for the residents of McKinney and surrounding communities to come out and
spend a day shopping, dining and enjoying the arts and entertainment with friends and
family.”
Event goers can expect to see a multitude of art mediums such as paintings of all sorts,
floral art displays, photography, murals, jewelry, hand painted pottery, blown glass,
cooking demonstrations, entertainment and children’s arts and crafts.
Participating businesses will share their own artistic abilities by showcasing hand
painted, colorful frogs to direct shoppers from store to store throughout the Art Walk in
the Historic Downtown Commercial District.
Admission to the event is free to the public and parking is plentiful throughout the eleven
parking lots north, south, east, and west of the square. For additional information,
contact McKinney Main Street at 972-547-2660 or visit
