The 2009 State Fair of Texas will be held this year from Sept. 25 to Oct. 18, 2009 at the Dallas Fair Park, a 277-acre entertainment and recreation complex owned by the City of Dallas, which is located two miles east of downtown Dallas. The theme for 2009 is "All aboard for food and fun!", which is a tip of the hat to hospitality, good eats and non-stop good times, Texas style. It's also a nifty tie-in to a new route to Fair Park, along DART's Green Line. The 2009 State Fair, its more than 70 rides, 200 food locations, unique shopping opportunities, college football, livestock shows, cooking competitions and the 2010 State Fair Auto Show.
