McKinney-Mardi Gras Dog

The Mardi Gras Dog parade in McKinney 8 years ago. It went from a few dogs and a hundred people to 250 dogs and 5000 people last year. It’s always on the Sunday before Mardi Gras and that happens to be Valentine’s Day this year. It’s a hoot! I’m not kidding.

It’s the most fun you can have on a Sunday afternoon.

It's going to be hearts and hounds on Valentine's Day at the Art Institute of McKinney's annual Krewe of Barkus parade Sunday, February 14th . This year's theme is ”Barkus Does Romance”. We'll be paying tribute to -- and in some cases poking fun at -- both real and fictional valentines from TV, movies, and the news. Costume prizes will be awarded in several categories. They have it every year, tho. My cubicle neighbor and her husband (who happens to be the Sheriff!) participate and a couple of their neighbors do, too. I've never been, but my coworker described last year's parade to me, and it sounded like a LOT of fun!
