Drifting event photo op August 14, 2011 : )

I just wanted to share a fun photo op for some of our DFW folks. There will be a drifting event out at the Mineral Wells Airport which is about 50 minutes west of down town Fort Worth.

There will be lots of photo opportunities for you, from fast moving cars on a track, cars just hanging around, and happy people having fun. We will be providing an alien bees lighting setup for people to try out and shoot with for fun, along with some other fun stuff specifically for photography people. There will be video opportunities too, including riding along with the cars and filming or attaching rigs directly to the cars for filming. I suppose you could do the same thing with your DSLR but I'm not that brave! If you have something specific you want to try out you are welcome to ask and I will try and make sure you have a chance to give it a shot. Also please note it costs 5 dollars to get in, but you get tons of stuff to shoot, can ride along in the cars if you bring a helmet, you can use the strobes, etc. You will have an awesome day!

Also the people out there are really cool, so if you like doing random people photography, it is rare for someone to mind getting there picture taken, most people will pose for you : )

Oh, also, if you like video stuff, we are going to be doing a fun video project at the event. We have a bunch of go pro cameras which will go on the cars, along with several dslr and video cameras we are going to film with. If you would like to share your footage with us, you can have access to all our footage to play with and cut yourself something really cool, so if you have a school project or something come take advantage of this : )
