Dallas Digital Photography Group Presents: Dallas From the Sky

Here are the details and how to sign up. It is first come first serve and no refunds. We will be launching from the Helo-Pad by Reunion Arena. I will be posting more details as the event nears. There are several times and two package options for those interested.

Here is the email I sent out to our members:


Dear Members:

I am excited to announce the First Helicopter Tour of Dallas for the Dallas Digital Photography Group. This has been in the planning process for some time now and I am thrilled to have finally worked out all the details.

I am emailing the instructions for you to review before I start posting the times. I am trying to make this a simple process for all involved. In order to RSVP, you will need to pay, either by pay-pal or notifying me you will be paying by cash, cashier's check, or money order.

In order to cover the cost of using pay pal for credit cards, I have had to add $5.00 for the processing protion.

Posting of the Flights: I will be posting them through out the day (Friday, Oct. 24, 2008). It will take me a while to post all the Flights. I will be posting in segments. So please continue to check the calendar through out the day to get the time slot you would like.

Flight Options:
We had a mixture of pricing from the polling I conducted. Therefore , I have decided to offer two different packages.

Package One (1): 8:00-10:00
15 minute flights
Dallas Skyline/Fair Park
Cost: $80.00 ($75 flight + $5.00 paypal processing)

Package Two (2): The rest of the day 10:30-8:00
30 Minute Flights
Dallas Skyline/Fair Park/Texas Stadium/Six Flags/Ballpark in Arlington
Cost: $115.00 ($110 flight + $5.00 paypal processing)

I will clearly mark the meet up calendars so that members will know which one they are signing up for.

The following are the instructions for booking.

Booking Instructions:
1. Choose your time slot(s)
2. You can only RSVP for three (3) people total (including yourself)
3. RSVP
4. Either Pay with Pay-Pal or notify myself
5. Mark on your calendars!
6. Show up and please arrive 10 minutes before you flight time. This will make sure the process is not delayed and everyone has as much time in the air as possible.

Additional Notes:
In order to sign up for this event, the person RSVPing will need to be a member. Their guest DO NOT have to be members.
There will be NO REFUNDS. I have to pay for this event upfront.
This is first come first serve. If we have a waiting list, then we will schedule a second day for or have another helicopter brought out for that same day.

Location:
We are working out the location details. We will either meet at Love Field or the Reunion Area Helo-pad. More than likely it will be the Helo-pad. This will allow us more time in the air for picture purposes.

I will update the location on Monday, after I meet with the Helicopter Owner to finalize the details.

Refreshments:
DDP will provide refreshments at the site. Members are more than welcome to join us to hang out, take pictures, and just have fun.

Dress Code:
Remember there will not be any doors on the helicopter. Therefore, you may want to bring a light jacket that zips up. Recommend wearing comfortable shoes that have a good sole with a good grip on the bottom. It will be cool this time of the year, so dress for with that in mind.

Equipment Needed:
Our recommendations are the following lenses. We learn this from previous Helicopter Tours. You will NOT have time to change lenses. Therefore, you may want to take onboard two cameras if you feel you need different Zoom options.
