Grandview; Civil War Re-enactiment - 03-16-2009, 12:12 PM

I would like to invite you, with your friends and family, to join us on Oct 9-11, 2009 for a Civil War reenactment at the Beaumont Ranch. Just a short trip south on 35W to Grandview Texas will put you back in history, Not by reading about it but experiencing it. Feel the vibrations when the cannons are fired and sense the excitement of the battle. Walk the streets of the old 1800s town and get caught up in a town raid, a demonstration of life during that era, or learn how to make a plantation doll. Come see and learn about history first hand.

The gates open both days at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday the main battle is at 2:00 and on Sunday at 1:00. All day there will be things going on around town for your enjoyment. The cost is $5.00 per vehicle. Promoted by the Civil War Center of Texas and Hosted by 13th Texas Cavalry, Major M. D. (Mark) Hanna,

CWCT offers two events per year, a full re-enactment on the 2nd weekend of March and a Living History weekend on the 2nd weekend of October. In October we offer classes in a wide variety of period subjects. Volunteers from our Civilian Living History organization visit schools and civic organizations to demonstrate what life was like during the American Civil War period and help to lead the audience on an exciting journey of discovery into what helped make the United States the great nation it is today
