I found an old pop cam in a drawer and I was thinking what would happen if I ran a roll of slide film through it and processed it with negative chemicals? Pics to come soon :) kamekaze added 6 Minutes and 28 Seconds later...Double Post Merged Below
So the camera is missing the foam piece that holds the film to the winder for the shutter. A sponge is going to be a bit to abrasive methinks, what kind of house hold solution would ya'll use to replace it?

You can get it from Micro Tool. If you have questions about it give them a call.

Just process the slide film as slide film. Cross-processing a roll of slide film is a waste of good slide film.

Cheap, plastic, 4 different color plastic lenses, film winds the shutter and releases them one after another onto one frame. | | | |

I guess I should just toss all these Fujichrome negatives I have that were cross-processed as B&W...

Good news: I sent my Calumet film holder back for a refund.
Bad news: I sent my Calumet film holder back for a refund.
I'm debating if I should replace it. A roll film holder would work very nicely with the Linhof & Tominon 105mm lens.

no offense to anybody who enjoys crossprocessed pictures. I just feel few people can do them well. Crossprocessed images just look cheapjack and garish and overdone.

I'll have to give that a try next. kamekaze added 2 Minutes and 57 Seconds later...Double Post Merged Below Quote:

Crossprocessed images just look cheapjack and garish and overdone. | I think that it depends on what you do with them whether they look garish and overdone... I have several B&W prints from cross-processed film that you wouldn't know were cross-processed if I didn't tell you.
I think that cross-processing, just like the long line of other photographic devices (lith, HDR, IR, fisheye lenses, double exposures, etc.) can be used to make great pictures... but when you say "...that's a great [double exposure/IR/HDR/etc.]..." rather than "...that's a great picture..." then the point of the technique was missed and it becomes a cliche...
I am experimenting with cross-processing C-41 and E-6 because I have hundreds of exposures of expired E-6 and C-41 that I would like to be able to use effectively...
Cross-processed C-41 as B&W does have a grainier look to it - - like 35mm Tri-X that has been pushed... in my experince... perhaps it meets your vision, John.

Color film in B&W chemicals isn't what pops into most folks brain when the term "cross processed" is mentioned. E-6 in C-41 is "cross processed." And frowned on by the folks running the C-41 machine. Why not try E-6 daylight film in artificial light or better still, E-6 tungsten film in daylight. Or put a B&W color filter on the lens.
Wes, for $0.84 Walmart will develop your C-41 film correctly. You can decide at the scanning or printing stage how you want the photo to look. I have seen gorgeous platimum look alike prints from color film.

for some reason Walmart charges something like $7 for develop/prints for one roll of 35mm C41. You can't specify 'process only' with 35mm C41.

I didn't know that. Wesley's antique film is 120 & 220 at $0.84/roll for C-41. E-6 slightly higher.
