It's really big!

Zebulous: There's a piece of ground glass on the big end of a view camera. In the photo above, that would be the left side. Around the corner from that shiny knurled locknut. It's 4" x5". Same as the film. 100% viewing.

Does it come with the dancing monkey?

Next someone is going to ask; "What's a tilt and swing?"

The Dancing Monkey does the "Tilt & Swing".

Folks, that's at least $100 worth of film and holders. The 2 lenses, while not current, are very useable. Some might say they are built better than new lenses. The two lens boards are $20-$30 each. And they are the standard Linhof type. That means it's easy to find boards and often boards with lenses for this camera. However, the 90 & 215 would keep you busy for a long time.

Okay, so you focus and frame up your shot, then drop the film in and shoot? Obviously you cant see THROUGH the film.

See the black things behind the white box? Those are film holders. One sheet for each side. The 3 boxes are full of film. The white box is Ilford FP4+. The green boxes are Fujichrome, Velvia and Provia.

The film goes in the holder. The holder slides under the ground glass. The darkslide comes out. The shutter opens & closes. The darkslide goes back in. The holder slides out. Done. Next picture...same thing.

That is true, and probably why many of the typical LF subjects don't move much... but there have been many very famous people who did exceptional work doing portraiture in LF - - even after smaller cameras were the norm.

Besides, it gives you a nice element of Surprise! when you scan the negative and (1) find out that a small creature has encroached on the picture that was not there when you framed and composed it, and (2) there is sufficient resolution to see that small creature on the tree that was in the park on the other side of the road when you took the picture.

I welcome comments on any picture I post... Thanks.

Such a temptation but it's only 1/4 the way there and the M9 comes first....

John,

There is a Zone VI tripod like mine for sale at the Large Format Forum. Only $75. More than enough tripod for 8x10.

The Fujiroid is pretty good stuff for instant film. I shoot more Fujiroid than real film.
