I have one of these, and it is great, however, the Silverfast Ai software is 6.4 something, and I have to pay $50 to upgrade to 6.6. Anyone use this, and is it worth the money?

Murph,

I use EpsonScan. I follow Ken Lee's instructions. I like it.

I'm with Wayne. EpsonScan seems to perform best for me on my V700. I have a pro license for VueScan and the bundled version of Silverfast Ai. Neither of them have performed as well as EpsonScan on the V700 or NikonScan on the CoolScan 5000. Seems to me that the vendor knows best in this case...

I concur as well. I tested Nikon Scan against the Silverfast that came with my Coolscan V, and the Nikon was better, so I dumped the Silverfast. Same thing with my older Epson flatbed, I'm just using Epson Scan for 120 negs.

Two supporting witnesses. Who knew! Ken Lee gets all the credit. He has set the bar very high.
