Books on Dark Room design and hardware suppliers

In the next couple of years, I may have the opportunity to build a custom Dark Room.

What books are out there addressing issues like postive pressure calculations, venting rates for fumes, etc.? Who are the distributors for lights, water filters, light tight doors, etc.

I know in the main the layout I want for work flow. I need how to calculate air flow for a given positive pressure with X volume and controls, air movement for noxious fume venting, light tight door options and

Ventilation and other health concerns for the chemistry you are using can be found on MSDS sheets that should be available from the chemical manufacturer.

I'm also looking forward to building out half of my garage into an darkroom. I'll be interested to hear your progress.

That's a novel approach. What's wrong with trays on the kitchen counter for 8x10 negatives and contact prints?

You're taking out the creative factor. But you are doing it. Enjoy!

I have used darkrooms with rotating doors, double conventional doors and an air lock between and double black out drapes with a foot or so between. That's what i remember. It's been a hundred years.

Seems like ventilation is an HVAC contractor cook book solution. Write to Kodak. Somebody there may remember something from the Land Before Time.

Photo Engineer at APUG probably has that kind of minute detail in his head.

I promise you one thing: A.A. and E.W. didn't worry too much about these things. A.A. maybe more than E.W. since he used an 8x10 enlarger and large troughs for big prints.
