Cool Portra 400-1 review - 11-24-2010, 12:22 PM

One extensive test doesn't make a rule. However, these results are very interesting. Kodak's new Portra 400 may be the analog answer to auto ISO.
Very useable results from ASA 25 to 3200. The last time I looked, DSLRs rarely go below 100, 50 seems to be the limit. Listen and enjoy.

when he shot them both at 3200, did he push process the film?

You would have to go and read the review or ask the reviewer. It's my understanding that C-41 film doesn't "push" well in the same sense as B&W film. And it's darn near impossible to find a lab pushing the film. My guess: Standard processing. Ask the guy to be sure.

I just scanned the 4 parts and there is no mention of processing. I'm going to assume that it was stock processing.

AZ will "push" C41 film for you. I have no idea how they do it since as you said it's a standard process for all speeds.

I'm just wondering how he was able to get a usable negative underexposing three stops. Must have really metered for the shadows heavily.
