Leads to me building things instead of studying for the three finals I'm about to take.

I'll make it, worry not. In the meantime, I decided to make a medium format pinhole camera. The way things worked out I ended up with a 63mm focal length (by mistake), a 6x5.5cm frame size (also by mistake), and a .012" aperture (based on a scan of the piece of can I poked a hole in, and my subsequent math).

It cost me less than $10 to make, so I ran a roll of HP5+ through it today. It was kind of windy, so even sitting on the ground it got jostled around a bit. I'll make a heavier cradle for it to sit inside on top of a tripod at some point, as well as a shutter I can open/close with the cable release I bought for my Mamiya and Pentax cameras.

Thanks. That's a Pepsi Throwback can too. I heard real sugar was better for photography ;)

This is a prototype, I'm going to transfer the plans to closely measured wood next for added weight/stability. I happen to have a ton of scraps left from various other wood-working projects so I may be able to do this entire thing at a very minimal cost. I'm pretty sure I have some carb springs left over from my first Camaro somewhere as well. That'll be part of my shutter mechanism. If I play my cards right, I'll get this done without spending anything I didn't already spend before.

Nicely done... Here is mine made from a Koni omega back... Takes care of film tension, spacing, and framing... It's focal length will cover 6x7 easily ... Try looking up the pinhole calculators and being more exact with your calculations... Trust me you'll be happier in the long run...

Oh I used the calculators. I missed my focal length but I did manage about a perfect pinhole. Dimensions will be correct when I cut wood.

I see nothing.
Hopefully your engineering calculations will be spot on. Or you'll have a good designer who will find the bits that don't fit properly. Grinning.
