C-41 Bleach scream - 12-30-2010, 03:52 PM

AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH!

Apparently, even though I intend to use my C-41 bleach to exhaustion, dispose and remix, I still need replinesher/regenerator (1) to mix a batch of Kodak Felxicolor Bleach III.

Adorama, who sold me the Kodak FC Bleach III Starter (Kodak PN: 8566796), has been out of stock on the 12.5 gal. Relpenisher (12.5 gallons is WAY more than I need) (Kodak PN: 8184038) for the past six months.

B&H has the 5 gal Regenerator (Kodak PN: 1939685) (What I would prefer, assuming this is what I need) and the 12.5gal Replenisher (Kodak PN: 1987924) but "This item (both of 'em) is only available for purchase in our superstore"

Freestyle has never hard of Kodak barnd C-41 chemistry.

Can anyone confirm I am looking for the right Kodak part numbers and tell me where I can find them?

(1) Kodak seems to use the terms replinesher and regenerator at random and interchangeably. I am assuming these to be the same substance.

Yikes! Ask at the large format forum. There are folks there who have been using C-41 chemistry for ages. I wonder if the folks at AZ Lab would answer your questions?

replenisher and regenerator are two entirely different chemicals.you add replenisher to the bleach after each film run, it replenishes the chemicals of the bleach that was used for that run. when all the replenisher is used up, you add the regenerator to the replenisher to makeup a new batch or bleach replenisher. when our lab was still processing film, we used the same bleach over and over for years since it was regenerated and filtered. the same is true for all labs processing film.
