Keystone K36 with f3.5 lens film - 01-02-2011, 06:08 PM

Dear Forum

I bought the above today for my teenage daughter. I read a thread about film but it was dated back in 2006 so I am wondering firstly what film does this camera require and secondly where can I buy it? Any help greatly appreciated as I am currently in NYC on holidays.

I don't know anything about them.

A Internet search says its a 8mm camera.

Good luck with it, but it may be hard to get film and /or developing done.

thanks....it has a spool and the box has the 8mm. I was also looking up on the net but couldn't understand the 'double 8". Appreciate you taking the time to look.

Thanks

Rhonda,
Welcome to the forum. 8mm movie cameras are really ancient. One film to avoid is Kodachrome. You may find bushels of it on ebay. the last processing line in the world closed last week. kodachrome can no longer be processed.
This link may help. Old 8mm film. Not to be confused with Super 8mm film.

Regular 8mm (aka Standard 8) Film Stock - My Old Camera

One more link.

Thankyou so much! I really appreciate your assistance. Can I ask if I choose
Cine-X 100 (Plus -x 7265) Black and White Reversal Film - Regular 8mm (Standard 8mm) 25ft. - will I be on the right track? I think my daughter would LOVE black and white. I am now back home so would send off to either of the recommendations for processing. As you can see I am not at all clued up in this area :)

By the way, I hope it's OK but I am actually Australian and back home now in Sydney.

That's a whole different story as far as sources for film and processing. Do you have a projector?
I would look for a similar forum based in Oz. Ask them. The Rangefinder Forum has members from Australia. Maybe some of them have 8mm movie knowledge.
