maybe a stupid question | It doesn't matter as long as the box is closed.
I generally keep mine in a area where it won't be accidentally opened by unknowing people.

Some people will freeze it, but that is way overboard.
If you keep it for a long time it may begin to fog like film.

I never did.
I was more concerned about what the moisture may do to the paper.
Do you have to let it come back up to room temperature before you use it?
Is condensation a issue.

I dunno... Its one of those things I was told to do when starting out and I never really questioned it. And the places I bought it from kept it that way. And my darkroom isn't the most stable environment as far as temps go.
Yes, I do let it come to room temp before using.

How about a "DARK ROOM". Always have trouble finding it then, to dark to see.

Keep your paper in the fridge or the freezer if you don't go through it quickly. Some paper has developing agents in the emulsion and will fog in just a year or two. I found this out the hard way. Most of a 250 sheet box of Polymax Fine Art that was only about two years old and stored in my darkroom. Contact speed silver chloride paper is less of a problem. Very slow and no developing agents in the paper.
In some ways it is more of a problem than film. If film is evenly fogged from age, you just print through it. If paper fogs, getting really clean and brilliant whites in prints made with it will be impossible. That is what happened with the Polymax. I made some prints that looked not quite right. Then I made some on fresh paper. Side by side there was no comparison. Then I developed and fixed an unexposed sheet and fixed an undeveloped sheet. The difference was obvious, the paper was bad.
So, if you have the space, freeze it. I have never had condensation problems even with partially used boxes but give it at least a day to warm up.
