Another Sad Day in Rochester - 02-03-2011, 09:49 PM

Just got the email from the school staff...

On-Site labs at RIT (Imaging System Labs) will no longer be processing E-6. C41 will still be mini-lab-able and the Kreonite RA4 processor will still be running for now, as will the Durst Lambda printing. But no more slide.

Regretting not shooting it sooner, but glad we saw some awesome 4x5 and 8x10 chromes on display. Never anything else like it... even between a transparency Lambda'd on trann...er...FujiClear... from a 60 megapixel back isn't a same next to real E6.

Does this mean that nobody will be making E-6 kits? I've got a ton of 120/220 E-6 film. What about Dwayne's?

Daniel, clarification please. Is the lab at school stopping E-6 or is Kodak stopping E-6 chemistry? There are other E-6 kits available.

The school itself will not be processing E6. No implications were stated towards Kodak or their production.

The only involvement Kodak as far as ISL goes is pretty limited though, we use off-brand products for B&W that are treated the same as Kodak products (Trebla for black and white). The color printing class is nearly all Fuji RA4 paper due to difficulty obtaining Kodak paper. Kodak does come by from time to time at larger events and throws free expired film of all flavors into our grimy hands. Roll of Ektar and Portra I need to get around to using...
